UAE Gratuity Calculation Rules

Under the UAE Labour Law, gratuity is generally calculated as follows:

Employees must complete at least one year of continuous service to become eligible for gratuity.
Gratuity is calculated using the employee’s last drawn basic salary, not the total salary.
For the first five years of service, gratuity is generally calculated at 21 days’ basic salary for each completed year.
